The Wild Career of Nicolás López

Nicolás López has had a wild career. Aftershock marks his first appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival, but his work has been shown at numerous other festivals all over the world including South By Southwest, Sitges and Fantastic Fest. At age 17, he dropped out of high school to create an MTV Latin America show called Piloto MTV, the premise of which had López, appearing as himself, pitch a different new show idea to MTV in each episode--and get rejected.

At age 20 (having returned to high school and obtained his diploma), he directed and co-wrote his first feature film, the gonzo high school comedy Promedio Rojo.

In 2008, he upped the scope with his nutty superhero comedy Santos.

Then he delivered back-to-back relationship comedies with the sweetly titled Fuck My Life (2010):

...and Fuck My Wedding (2011):

See the world premiere of Aftershock at Midnight Madness and look for the three-peat coming soon--yep, it's Fuck My Family (currently in post-production).
