Nicolas Gregoriades in the documentary The Spirit of Jiu Jitsu by Stuart Cooper, notes that the Hindu concept of Lila, which refers to divine or cosmic playfulness is something he can see within the context of playing the game of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:
One of my yoga instructors, he speaks of something called Lila, which I think is a Sanskrit word. Lila refers to divine playfulness. And he was saying how the universe is just playing a game; it's playing a game with itself; like everything, creating the universe is playing. And Jiu Jitsu is like that to me.
