Kren's Rammbock is an intense and intimate 64 minute zombie film. It chronicles the story of two people who've barricaded themselves in the wake of a zombie apocalypse. From what I understand, it focuses more on how these people realistically survive, rather than your traditional zombie movie's direct confrontation. Certainly this is an intriguing choice. It will be interesting to see how Kren's sensibilities are applied with The Station, and whether or not he'll continue this grounded approach to "traditional" monster problems.
I have yet to see Rammbock - but you don't need to take my word for it; there's already a lot of good press for it out there!
Rammbock presents the speedy ‘n’ furious sort of zombies made so popular in Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake, and the attacks are both effectively creepy and generally quite brutal. But the theme that most interests director Marvin Kren and screenwriter Benjamin Hessler is that of love and loyalty. Rammbock might be a short feature film, but it does offer some fascinating subtext to munch upon; without spoiling anything, Rammbock takes the zombie apocalypse and uses it as a backdrop for a story about love, loss, loyalty and betrayal.

I've always liked movies set in small, confined spaces - 12 Angry Men, Sleuth, etc. - because it challenges a director and helps ratchet up the suspense. Directors Marvin Kren and Benjamin Hessler are up to the task.

...Rammbock scores with its pathos and its DIY ethos. With every film student on the planet plotting his or her chance to slap ragged clothes and makeup on actors good at lurching, Rammbock may turn out to be the most valuable and instructive zombie movie of them all. Laughs and exploding heads? Seen it, done it. But a zombie movie with heart? That’s novel.
